2021 TSNRP Scientific Mentor Awards
The TriService Nursing Research Program created this award to recognize and honor the efforts of nurse scientist mentors within the nursing research community. This award recognizes the significant contributions of scientific mentors to guide and develop military nurses as nurse scientists and scholars, and to advance the care of service members and their beneficiaries. The sheer number of highly qualified scientific mentors was incredible and made this decision a difficult one. However, it became very clear that there were two distinct categories one for Active Duty Scientific mentors and one for Retired Scientific mentors.
The selection of the awardee was based on the commitment of the nominee to military nurses, the quality of the mentorship activities, clear descriptions of how the mentor advocated for the mentees, and how the mentor made an impact on the early career of researchers.
